Can we overcome our past?
Katie Parker is about to get a new life—whether she wants one or not. With her mom in prison, and her father AWOL, Katie is sent to live with a squeaky-clean family who could have their own sitcom. She launches a full-scale plan to get sent back to the girls’ home when she finds herself in over her head...and heart. When Katie and her new "wrong crowd" get into significant trouble at school, she finds her punishment is restoring a historic theater with a crazy grandma who goes by the name of Mad Maxine. In the midst of her punishment, Katie uncovers family secrets that run deep, and realizes she's not the only one with a pain-filled past. Katie must decide if she'll continue her own family’s messed up legacy or embrace a new beginning in this place called In Between.

Loved this book! ‘Katie’s’ sassand wit along with ‘Maxine’s’ crazy shenanigans had me literally laughing out loud! This is the first Jenny B Jones book for me, but rest assured, it won’t be the last!

I just needed a light book that would give me a lift. I laughed, often out loud, at every paragraph and often every sentence. I don’t laugh enough and this book reminded me of how much I needed to laugh. Thank you Jenny Jones for a delightful book!
  • Unbelievable

This is one of the best books I have ever read. Filled with emotions from fear and disappointment to love and new found faith in God. Laughter bubbles out and caught me by surprise. Even though I read this on iBooks I will be purchasing a hard back copy so I can share it with those I love. As a personal note I have a granddaughter that came to us through the foster care program and like Katie she was sent from God to us.
  • Such a cute light read

I finished in 3 days. The light heartedness was great! Katie Parker is such a relatable character to us all. We all go through season of feeling in lovable or what not. This book is perfect for a “ beach book” as my mama calls them.

  • Funny, heartfelt and relatable

Truly enjoyed this book. The writing style is conversational, a very easy read. While serving a bigger purpose, irony and comedy are often used to drill points Home.I had many moments where I actually laughed out loud. I could easily visualize the little town of “in between” and found myself rooting for this family. The concept of faith is interwoven throughout the book beautifully. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author.
  • Witty!

I loved this book! I thoroughly enjoyed the touch of sass, perspective of the main character, and the inner thoughts of a child in foster care. I laughed more than I expected too!
  • Humor and faith

Ms. Jones works magic with these two subjects. You’ll laugh, you’ll tear up but you’ll love this book. Enjoy.
