Description

An intimate, powerful, and inspiring memoir by the former First Lady of the United States

In a life filled with meaning and accomplishment, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most iconic and compelling women of our era. As First Lady of the United States of America—the first African American to serve in that role—she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world, dramatically changing the ways that families pursue healthier and more active lives, and standing with her husband as he led America through some of its most harrowing moments. Along the way, she showed us a few dance moves, crushed Carpool Karaoke, and raised two down-to-earth daughters under an unforgiving media glare.

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her—from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it—in her own words and on her own terms. Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same.

Mr. and Mrs. Obama, You have been my icons right from the inception of your presidency. Throughout, you held yourselves to such an aspirational moral standard, as befits a US president and a US First Lady. Both of you inspire the hard work and motivation I employ in all spheres of my life, most especially my education. I attribute my acceptance into Yale to both of you. Thank you, thank you, and thank you. And I hope the spiteful people here will come to resonate with the social conscience and goodwill you exude. As for me, I can’t wait to grab a copy of your new book, Mrs. Obama!

Michelle Obama was the first First Lady that was so much for being active. I dont understand how people can hate that. People can find anything they can to make a good thing become negative.

I read blue prints, and haven’t read a book since high school. It takes some, their entire life to get past a problem, and the Obamas did support the LGBT community like any other person should. Many forget we’re all imperfect people .

How is it possible to rate a book that has not been released? Very puzzling!

The Obamas have made enough off of the American people. Why give this couple another dime. The Obamas destroyed America in 8 years. Look how much better we are today after reversing most of the Obama legacy. MAGA

I wouldn’t buy this book because of the self-indulgent manner it is problably written, a “Becoming” title about how her husband is the greatest thing that ever happened to the country all while taking credit for everything Trump did. Also the cover picture isn’t very “becoming.”

Hopefully the ghost writers did good for Mrs. Obama. And, I don’t see how anyone can rate any book before it is even release.
