  • Not Very Interesting

    By Mapitout
I tried to like Luke but it was difficult. He dropped out of college after his junior year to pursue extreme sports all over the world. He wanted his college girlfriend, Lizzie, to go with him and she just couldn't do it. Lizzie went on to get her degree and pursued her dream of becoming a renowned concert pianist. Both Luke and Lizzie became successful in their chosen fields but tragic circumstances drew them together 10 years after their initial split. Luke was still angry that Lizzie had not gone with him to follow his dream. Throughout the story he was just self centered with emotional baggage. Luke and Lizzie eventually decide they can't live without each and by the time they reached that decision, I just didn't care. I have purchased all of the books in this series and I hope the other six stories are more interesting.
  • Slow and boring.

This story was really boring. I had a hard time even finishing it. I’ll try the next one in the series, but it it’s not a lot better, I’ll forgo this series.
  • Great start to the series

    By Teri Donaldson
This is going to be a very interesting series. Each story is about one of seven brothers and each book is written by a different author. Barbara Freethy was the perfect choice to kick off the series. Luke's father, a billionaire, dies without sharing his illness with his seven sons. Days after his death, each brother is presented with a gift. Luke receives the title to the family's mountain lodge. Not wanting to settle down as he is a dare devil film maker, he decides to visit the property thinking that he may be able to sell it. Ten years prior, he and Lizzie experienced a sad and emotional break up. No other woman has compared to her since. Imagine Luke's surprise when he visits the lodge and finds Lizzie as the manager. This is the story of the next chapter in Luke and Lizzie's lives. Romance at its best. Barbara's words make you feel the heartache, the pain and the joy of finding love again. I was provided an ARC so I could read the book and prepare an honest review. I can't wait to read the other six stories.

A second chance for Luke. His college sweetheart left him. Now, several years later, Luke has a second chance.
  • Luke, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers

ARC copy for honest review with no compensation. What a way to start the new series, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. The 7 Remington brothers are shocked to learn their father has died without telling them he was sick with cancer. Mom died years ago and Dad lost himself in building an empire to compensate for the love he lost. Luke, a middle son, is a film producer, who films himself and others like him doing extreme sports and adventures. He has traveled around the world footloose and fancy free for a long time but lately as he does his filming the adrenaline rush doesn’t remain like before. He feels something is missing from his life, but doesn’t want to think about it too much or put a name to it…..Lizzie. When he comes home after his father’s death, he finds out his father left him the resort where his parents met and the family vacationed at until his Mom died. Lizzie Parker, a concert pianist and Luke’s college sweetheart, gave up her career when her sister and husband were killed in an accident, leaving a daughter behind for Lizzie to care for. Lizzie is grateful to Colin, Luke’s father for giving her a job running the resort. She needed a place for her niece to deal with the death of her parents and to open up to Lizzie about the accident. Lizzie has no idea that Colin has died until……Luke shows up!! Will Lizzie and Luke find a way past all the hurt, anger, twist and turns and tragedies to find love or will it all fall apart again?? Loved all the interaction with the brothers and supporting characters and am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series by 6 other authors.
  • Loved Luke

This is a beautiful story of young love, parental love, difficult love and everlasting love. Luke has lost his father and inherited a resort. Turns out his ex-girlfriend is the resort manager. Their journey is full of challenges as they reacquaint themselves. Barbara Freethy has written this delightful book filled with life lessons. Highly recommend this book and looking forward to the rest of the series from a variety of authors.
  • First to fall??

    By KLowe1985
Luke and Lizzie? Is that going to happen again? Luke is an extreme sports adventurer and Lizzie is a former concert pianist now running a Lodge near Yellowstone and taking care of her niece. When Luke's father dies, leaving the Lodge to Luke and is this possibly the opportunity to catch up with his college sweetheart. Colin, Luke's father, definitely knows what he was doing in leaving the Lodge to Luke. Luke is the first of the Brannigan brothers to fall, are the other six going to follow suit? I hope so and I can't wait to read their stories!
  • LUKE

    By Ellen/Oceanside
Another new series 7 BRIDES FOR 7 BROTHERS by Barbara Freethy. Starting it off, the first is "LUKE" who risks life and limb, for that perfect shot, being a film maker. Doesn't miss home, though he does his brothers.Traveling the globe, taking that one perfect shot, and cheating death one more time, Sums up the life of Luke. Did he have a girlfriend, at 20 he did, but none now at 30 . A death, the reading of the will, and why was he left a mountain lodge. Another winner, to enjoy and meet the Brannigan family. The next is Gabe. Given my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

  • Going to be interesting!

    By Livesfornascarracing
I am very excited to read this series and to see how this is going to pan out. 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, with each story written by a different author. This is the story of Luke and Lizzie. I have this thing about people who stay up all night to read a book as soon as it comes out, and I usually don't do that, but when I started this book I couldn't put it down. I loved it. Kept me intrigued, excited and completely interested. I am so looking forward to the next brother and bride and excited to see how a different authors prospective will be and if it will tie everything together. Great romance, not sappy, quick fun read. Highly recommend if you love romance novels.
